Cia Tempo Cyr Wheel

(São Paulo – SP)

Is it possible to develop a storyline based on musical improvisation? Can we produce music to accompany the nuances of the Cyr wheel as it turns? Or are music and acrobatics their own separate exercises on virtuosity? These are the issues posed by this unpredictable performance.

A violinist plays a solo concert in the center of a wheel, while a character wanders around an armchair and a small piece of furniture, eventually taking over the wheel and claiming the musician’s role as the protagonist.

Cesar Rossi takes on the challenge to create a narrative using one of the most complex circus apparatuses, mixing improvised and choreographed moves.
